Bucharest's STB to buy another 70 electric buses

The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) is launching a tender for the purchase, through operational leasing, of 70 eight-meter electric buses. STB, the main public transport company in Bucharest and Ilfov county, has published an announcement in this regard on the Electronic Public Procurement System. The estimated total value of the contract is €50.48 million.

E.ON and alpitronic to promote electric mobility

The E.ON Group is continuously investing in building new ultra-fast charging points across Europe. The company has ordered 4,500 additional fast charging stations from manufacturer alpitronic. They are to be used in customer-facing projects and public charging areas by 2025.

Autonom has already ordered 200 Tesla electric cars

Autonom, an integrated provider of mobility and financing services, has launched a solution dedicated to electric cars to address concerns associated with the adoption of electric vehicles, such as long-distance car autonomy, charging, maintenance costs, technological advancement, and resale value risk. Number three in the market of operational leasing and car rental companies ordered at the beginning of the year, with the help of an EIB loan of €32 million, 200 Tesla electric cars (Model 3 and Model Y).

Tarom saves 800 kg of fuel in "sustainable flight challenge"

TAROM aims for a new record for the most efficient medium-courier flight, part of the "SkyTeam Sustainable Flight Challenge" competition. The TAROM company participates, for the second consecutive year, in the sustainable flight challenge organized by the SkyTeam alliance. The sustainable TAROM Bucharest-Madrid-Otopeni route, operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, meant a fuel economy of approximately 800 kg. Essentially, the fuel economy results in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions of over 2.5 tonnes.

Fully electric Ford model to be produced in Craiova

Ford presents the E Tourneo Courier, a fully electric model, which will be produced in the Ford Otosan factory in Craiova. The E-Tourneo Courier will be available from the end of 2024. The car will have five seats.

Bucharest to buy 10 electric buses

The Bucharest Transport Company (STB) wants to buy 100 electric buses through leasing. Buses must be 12 meters long and have a RAR type approval certificate (Romanian Auto Registry) or an approval certificate granted by the competent authorities of the member states of the European Union, in the M3 category.

Hunedoara County Council is buying 26 electric buses

26 electric buses purchased from Turkey, with European funds, will circulate on the roads of the cities of the Jiului Valley this year. The purchase contract was signed this week by the Hunedoara County Council and the Anadolu Automobil Rom company, and the cars must be delivered to Hunedoara County by October 31, 2023. The green line of electric buses will serve four routes totaling 125 kilometers each way -returned.

One in five cars sold this year to be electric

Sales of electric cars are growing in Romania

The report of the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association on car registrations in the first three months of 2023 shows strong new growth in the 100% electric car segment. In the first three months of the year, 36,592 new cars were registered, of which 3,130 are fully electric, 1,269 were plug-in hybrids, 2,981 were "full hybrids", 24,539 powered by gasoline, and 4,673 were diesel.

EVconnect to reach 500 electric charging stations in Romania

The EVconnect electric car charging network will exceed the threshold of 500 stations by the end of the year, and by 2025 the network will include at least 3,000 electric car charging stations. Last year, 166,244 charging sessions were registered on the EVconnect network, totaling 2.37 Gwh, which represents a reduction in the CO2 footprint of 1,989 tonnes.
