Romanian floating solar pioneer partners with university

Green Forum
The Faculty of Hydrotechnics from the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest and Waldevar Floating PV have signed a strategic partnership to accelerate innovation in renewable energy and prepare the next generation of specialists in floating photovoltaic technologies.

The partnership marks a national and European first: Waldevar Floating PV is the first company in Europe that will own a factory dedicated exclusively to the production of floating photovoltaic systems. The future factory will also be a research and innovation centre dedicated to this technology, which utilises unused water surfaces for clean energy generation, reducing water evaporation and improving the quality of the aquatic environment.

The partnership will organise joint activities promoting water protection, environmental protection and sustainable development through visits, workshops and informal meetings, both within the faculty and at national level. Volunteer activities will also take place with the participation of students, teaching staff and Waldevar Floating PV personnel.

Special emphasis will be placed on initiating and conducting joint scientific research themes, with results published in specialist publications with international impact. On the practical side, Waldevar Floating PV will implement an internship programme for final year students and will be involved as a specialist practice partner for bachelor's and master's students.

"This partnership represents a solid bridge between the academic world and industry, exactly where real solutions are born for the challenges of our times," said Conf. univ. dr. ing. Alexandru Dimache, Dean of the Faculty of Hydrotechnics. "I am convinced that together we will train specialists capable of changing the rules of the game in Romania's and Europe's green energy."

"Waldevar Floating PV is building not just a factory, but an ecosystem of the energy future," said Daniel Dragomir, Chief Operating Officer at Waldevar Floating PV. "We need brilliant minds, trained in the spirit of rigorous engineering and bold innovation. Today's students will become tomorrow's innovators of the most dynamic renewable energy sector."
