DHL has launched Continental Europe's first Electric Vehicle (EV) Center of Excellence in Pozzuolo Martesana, near Milan, Italy, marking a significant advancement in electric mobility.

This new facility is a collaboration between DHL's Customer Solutions & Innovation Team EV and DHL Global Forwarding, which integrates warehousing and freight management, including ocean and air freight. DHL Express enhances the center with its global distribution network.

Spanning approximately 10,000 square meters, this state-of-the-art logistics hub addresses the rising demand for EVs in the Italian market, specifically catering to the burgeoning EV industry.

The facility manages inbound and outbound logistics through various transportation modes, offers warehousing with value-added services like battery testing and charging, and handles complete aftermarket processes for batteries. This includes storage, recharging, dealer services for warranty issues, battery replacement, and disassembly. Customers benefit from a pan-European LiBa-compliant network, advanced energy storage capabilities, and specialized services for two-wheelers.

The facility also features temperature and humidity-controlled rooms for both general and hazardous materials, managed by trained EV sector teams. For air freight, customers are supported by IATA CEIV-certified teams, and they can also leverage the expertise of the Italy-based Formula E logistics team.

As the sixth hub in DHL's global network, the EV Center of Excellence offers strategic advantages with its proximity to the Italian market and neighboring regions. It serves a diverse customer base, including established OEMs and vehicle manufacturers from Europe, the United States, and China.
