Cluj County Council buys electric microbuses for students from 34 Cluj municipalities, from European funds. The aim is thus to improve transport conditions for students, especially for those from isolated areas with a low population. 34 Cluj administrative-territorial units will each benefit from such a means of transport, with a capacity of 16+1 seats. The Cluj County Council thus approved the project aimed at the purchase of electric school minibusses for students in Cluj County.

"It is an extremely useful investment, through which we aim to facilitate student's access to learning, contributing, implicitly, to the reduction of absenteeism and school dropout. We want the continuous development of the educational infrastructure and its adaptation to current requirements, so we are constantly concerned with identifying financial sources that will help us in our endeavor", said Alin Tișe, president of the Cluj County Council.

Through the "Electric minibusses for students from Cluj county" project, the aim is to improve the transport conditions for students, especially for those from isolated areas with a low population, by providing friendly electric school minibusses with the environment and with energy consumption reduced.

The project, to be submitted by the Cluj County Council for funding through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, has a total proposed value of RON36,44 million (€7.28 million), including VAT.

It will be implemented between July 2023 and December 2024.
