An eMobility project, worth about €2.2 million, co-financed by the European Union through the CEF Transport Facility, will be implemented in Romania by KMG Rompetrol Development. The project will be implemented by November 9, 2025.

KMG Rompetrol Development submitted in November 2022 an application for funding for a project on the acquisition and installation of ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles. These will be located in Rompetrol fuel stations located in existing integrated service centers on the A1 motorway, an important section of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

The project "Rompetrol's development of alternative fuel infrastructure on the A1 motorway at the RO-HU border" is co-financed by the European Union through the European Interconnection Facility for Europe (CEF-Transport), approved on 15 March 2023 by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency.

The project aims to install 11 300 kW charging stations  (each station with two 150 kW charging points) and to upgrade the grid connection for 11 locations with a power of 600 kW each in CNAIR1 locations as follows:

1.A1 motorway, km 558+380, lot 1 Right – Pecica, Arad county

2.A1 motorway, km 558+380, lot 1 Left – Pecica, Arad county

3.A1 motorway, km 530+536, lot 2 Right – Sagu, Arad county

4.A1 motorway, km 530+536, lot 2 Left – Sagu, Arad county

5.A1 motorway, km 500+596, lot 3 Right – Giarmata, Timiș county

6.A1 motorway, km 500+596, lot 3 Left – Giarmata, Timiș county

7.A1 motorway, km 481+646, lot 4 Right – Recaş, Timiș County

8.A1 motorway, km 481+646, lot 4 Left – Recaş, Timiș county

9.A1 motorway, km 340+500, lot 8 Right – Orastie, Hunedoara County

10.A1 motorway, km 340+500, lot 8 Left – Orastie, Hunedoara county

11.A1 motorway, km 260+160, lot 11 Right – Cristian, Sibiu county

The total estimated value of the project is approximately €2.2 million, of which approximately €900,000 will be provided by the European Union.
