One billion packages are collected through Romania's DRS

Green Forum
Environment Minister of Romania Mircea Fechet announced that one billion packages have been collected through the Deposit Return System. This year's target is 3.2 billion packages.

„One billion packages collected through the Deposit Return System. SGR is the best example of sustainability and innovation in Romania's circular economy over the past 30 years. We're talking about PET bottles, glass, and aluminum cans. PET bottles make up the largest share, and if lined up, they could circle the Earth five times. For the first time since the revolution, major PET processors are no longer importing this material, as SGR provides enough raw material”, said Mircea Fechet.
