Eurowind Energy completes first foundation of 48 MW Pecineaga wind farm

Green Forum
Eurowind Energy, the Danish developer and operator of wind, solar, and hybrid projects, announced the completion of the first foundation of the 48 MW wind farm in Pecineaga. The wind farm is scheduled to become operational in 2025.

Located in Constanta County, the wind farm will integrate a total of eight foundations for the eight wind turbines.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in the progress of the renewable energy project, which has involved a total investment of €79 million from Eurowind Energy A/S, through WEP Technology Investment SRL.

Each of the eight wind turbines associated with each foundation in the wind farm built by Eurowind Energy will have the capacity to power 6,000 households with green electricity, for a total of 48,000 households for the entire wind farm.

The Pecineaga wind farm will have an electricity production capacity of approximately 176,000 MWh/year, with the final project consisting of eight Siemens Gamesa SG 6.6-170 wind turbines. This type of wind turbine is currently the largest in Romania, with an individual power output of 6.6 MW, a rotor diameter of 170 meters, and a total height of 220 meters.

The construction phase of the first foundation has an estimated value of approximately EUR 0.9 million, with the process being coordinated by a team of 42 engineers and specialized workers. The maintenance of the wind turbines will be managed by the German manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, under a service contract signed for 20 years.
