Prebet Aiud to build a photovoltaic park

Prebet Aiud will build some production halls, for which it signed a contract of over €1 million. A photovoltaic park will be developed above these halls, considering that the company wants to become energy independent.

OMV Petrom allocates €3 million for planting saplings

OMV Petrom continues the "Romania plants for tomorrow" project and announces that is supporting this year's plantings with €3 million. Over 330,000 saplings will be planted in mini-urban forests in 20 cities, including Bucharest, Constanța, Giurgiu and Craiova. "Romania plants for tomorrow" is the largest planting initiative financed by private funds in Romania.

Town in Braila County fined for illegally stored household waste

Tichilesti City Hall in Brăila County was fined RON 20,000 (€ 4,000) by the Environmental Guard, after the commissioners discovered household waste illegally stored on an area of over 1,500 sqm. Also, a van transporting waste resulting from the dismantling of end-of-life vehicles was fined RON 15,000 (€ 3,000).

The Minister of Development, Cseke Attila, announced that cycling routes to be built in Romania in 14 counties of Romania. The cycling routes are aimed at encouraging sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism, as well as increasing the accessibility of tourist areas.

Brasov City Hall blocks reauthorization of lime factory due to pollution

Braşov City Hall has blocked the activity of the Stejeris lime factory, which was operating in a residential area of the municipality because there are numerous petitions regarding the pollution in the area. This is the third company forced to relocate its activity, following the actions of the City Hall.

The newly published Edition 2 2026 of the PV Module Manufacturer Ranking Report shows the first signs of stabilisation in the solar manufacturing sector's balance sheets after more than a year of steady deterioration. The table tracks the Altman Z-Score, a widely used measure of bankruptcy risk, for 64 publicly listed photovoltaic module manufacturers, and has now been refreshed with first-quarter 2026 data.
