BRD – Groupe Société Générale granted sustainable financing of RON1.1 billion (€220 million) last year. BRD launched 2022 its first green lending products for individuals. Also, the BRD Group reduced its energy consumption by 12.5% compared to the previous year and the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from operations.
Two Romanian businessmen are investing in a start-up that reduces energy consumption for companies and optimizes investment costs for photovoltaic parks. Cristina Bâtlan and Roberto Bâtlan, the founders of the Musette footwear and accessories brand, invest in the startup Energoloop, founded in partnership with Eduard Fariseu, which operates in the form of a photovoltaic hub.
Purcari Wineries Public Company Limited continues its efforts in sustainability by extending its photovoltaic system located at Purcari Winery and installing a new System on the premises of Bostavan Winery. The existing Solar Panel System installed in 2022 on the rooftop of Purcari Winery's production site, was extended with an additional 300 kW.

The market of electric and plug-in hybrid cars in Romania has accelerated growth thanks to the incentives granted through the Rabla Plus Program and the cost of use of these eco vehicles. The sales of electric scooters increased in the last year by approximately 10% in Romania. At the same time, the average selling price per unit decreased by at least 10%, due to the cheapening of raw materials. Between August 2022 and January 2023, Romania is managing to reduce fossil gas consumption by approximately 25%, according to a report published by CEE Bankwatch Network. Mayor Dominic Fritz is announcing that the Municipality has paid its environmental payment obligations for the 2016-2020 period. The City Hall of Timisoara paid last week the last installment of the obligations of RON5.6 million (€1.12 million) calculated by the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM), for the mentioned interval.

Eurowind Energy is investing €50 million in the construction of a new solar PV park in Teiuș, Alba County. The PV Park will generate approximately 102.05 GWh annually after becoming operational in 2024, with the capacity to power 30,050 households each year.
