The County Council is submitting a funding request for the purchase of green school microbuses. During the meeting of the Mehedinți County Council, a funding request was approved that will be submitted this week in order to attract European funds for the purchase of electric minibusses for schools in Mehedinți County. Also, the former student dormitory, the Administrative Pavilion, will be rehabilitated and will be transformed into a secondary administrative headquarters for the institutions subordinate to the County Council that do not have their own headquarters. CJ Mehedinti has European funds of over RON12 million (€2.4 million), through PNRR, for the energy efficiency of the building.

"We have, through the National Recovery and Resilience Program, at the disposal of UAT Mehedinți County, more than RON30 million (€6 million), without VAT, and we are trying to purchase electric minibusses for the transport of students from Mehedinți County," said the president of the Mehedinți County Council, Aladin Georgescu.

At the same time, during the meeting of the Mehedinți County Council, the technical-economic indicators were approved for the rehabilitation/re-compartmentalization project of the former student dormitory, the Administrative Pavilion, which will be transformed into a secondary administrative headquarters for the institutions subordinate to the County Council that do not have their own headquarters.

"We are trying to avoid paying the rent in the future. The General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection, the Nichita Stănescu Cultural Center, the Platoul Mehedinți Geopark, the County Directorate of Personal Records, and the County Center for Resources and Educational Assistance will find their headquarters here. Until now, the technical documentation has been drawn up. We have European funds worth over RON12 million (€2.4 million), through PNRR, an amount that covers the energy efficiency costs of the building. From the county budget, we will have to cover the amount of over RON7 million (€1.4 million) to complete the partitioning and furnishing of the building. There will be offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, and a waiting room", said the president of the Mehedinți County Council, Aladin Georgescu.
