Sibiu County Council invests in the energy efficiency of the Dental Clinic building

The Dental Clinic will consume 72% less gas and electricity from the public network. The Sibiu County Council is investing in the energy efficiency of the building. Through a contract of RON 2.48 million (€496,000) signed with the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, the Sibiu County Council will make the building of the Dental Clinic of the Sibiu County Emergency Clinical Hospital energy efficient. The authorities estimate a reduction of over 70% in the amount of energy we buy from public networks.

For the building built in 1968, the following works are to be carried out: thermal insulation of the external walls, replacement of the carpentry, replacement of the heating plant and hot water preparation and distribution installations, and installation of LED lighting systems.

Also, it is proposed to install heat pumps, air conditioning systems with heat recuperators, and solar panels for the production of electricity and the preparation of hot water.

"The estimates that the specialists made from the perspective of the targeted results indicate a reduction of more than 70% in the amount of energy we buy from the public networks. In fact, all the investments we make in the buildings in our heritage become more friendly to the environment, by reducing primary energy consumption and installing technologies based on renewable resources", said Daniela Cîmpean, president of the Sibiu County Council.

 As part of this project, an electric vehicle charging station will also be installed, equipped with two charging points. Already have the source of funding secured through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Sibiu County Council will in the following period purchase the services for the preparation of the Documentation for the Approval of Intervention Works (DALI), followed by those for the preparation of the Technical Project and the execution of the works.
