Hunedoara County Council is buying 26 electric buses

The Hunedoara County Council, represented by President Laurențiu Nistor, and the Anadolu Automobil Rom company, represented by Maria Magdalena Peșu, as general manager, signed the contracts for the supply of "Electric buses and electric bus charging stations" within the "Green Line" projects of electric buses between Petrila - Petroșani - Aninoasa - Vulcan - Lupeni - Uricani - Green Line Valea Jiului" - Component 1 and Component 2 - LOT 1. In total, through the two supply contracts, for the Green Line Jiului Valley, they will 26 electric buses, 12 fast charging stations, 30 slow charging stations, 2 fast charging stations electric cars/buses, and 4 other equipment will be delivered. The total value of the two contracts signed today amounts to RON65.85 million (€13.17 million), VAT included.

"I am satisfied that we managed to implement this project and that the residents of Jiului Valley will have modern, ecological transport at their disposal. The contribution of everyone, starting from the project implementation team, the management team of CJ Hunedoara, up to the mayors of Valea Jiului was significant, and everyone's involvement led to this result. In a few months, state-of-the-art electric buses will be running on public transport routes in the Jiului Valley", said President Laurentiu Nistor at the opening of the signing ceremony of the supply contract.

Under Component 1, 8 electric buses manufactured in Turkey, 4 fast charging stations, 10 slow charging stations, 2 electric car/bus fast charging stations, and 4 other equipment will be delivered.

The value of this supply contract amounts to RON 21.11 million (€4.22 million), VAT included.

Under Component 2, 18 electric buses, 8 fast charging stations, and 20 slow charging stations will be delivered. The supply contract has a value of RON44.74 million, VAT included (€8.94 million)

The delivery date stipulated in the contract is October 31, 2023.

The projects "Green line of electric buses between Petrila - Petroșani - Aninoasa - Vulcan - Lupeni - Uricani - Green Line Valea Jiului" - Component 1 and "Green line of electric buses between Petrila - Petroșani - Aninoasa - Vulcan - Lupeni - Uricani - Green Line Valea Jiului" - Component 2 are financed through the Regional Operational Program (POR) 2014-2020.

The main objective of the project is to improve public transport conditions, reduce carbon emissions by using non-polluting means of transport and adapt to the current needs of urban mobility in the Jiului Valley. The projects are carried out in partnership with the UATs from Valea Jiului, through the Intercommunity Development Association (A.D.I.) for zonal public transport (Green Line) in Valea Jiului. The green line of electric buses will serve four routes totaling 125 kilometers round trip.

The value of the Valea Jiului Green Line project – Component 1 is RON49.08 million (€9.81 million), and Component 2 has a total value of RON46.01 million (€9.2 million).
