Just 1 in 10 solar panel owners choose energy storage

Green Forum
Only one in ten individuals who installed photovoltaic systems in the first ten months of the year also opted for an energy storage solution, according to a survey conducted by energy provider E.ON among its customers.

The company reports installing over 3,500 photovoltaic systems under the "Casa Verde" program in the first ten months of this year—eight times more than last year. Installation took an average of five working days.
Despite this, only one in ten customers who had a system installed chose to add energy storage batteries.

“Investing in an energy storage battery can be a smart choice for those who want to maximize the benefits of solar panels and boost their energy independence,” said Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie România.
The storage system captures excess energy produced by the solar panels and provides it when needed most: at night, in winter, or during grid outages for on-grid systems. This ensures a smoother, more predictable energy supply, reducing the need to draw from the grid during peak consumption or low solar production periods.
