Alive Capital builds 26 MWp solar plant in Romania

Green Forum
Alive Capital, a renewable energy company in Romania, has commenced construction of a modern photovoltaic power plant in Nanov, Teleorman County.

The project spans an area of 247,500 square meters, with an installed capacity of 26 MWp, providing green energy, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 23,000 tons annually, and supporting Romania's transition to sustainable energy.

“This project in Nanov represents a significant step for Alive Capital, not only due to the size of the plant but also for integrating a state-of-the-art storage system. The storage system balances the energy flow and ensures supply continuity even during peak consumption periods. We are committed to delivering a reliable and stable energy source, contributing to Romania's sustainable energy goals,” stated Giacomo Billi, CEO of Alive Capital.

According to the press release, the new plant will feature 39,600 solar panels with an estimated annual production of 32,402 MWh and an advanced energy storage system with a capacity of 10 MWh and a power output of 5 MW. This storage system captures surplus energy generated during peak hours, making it available during high-demand periods. The system not only stabilizes the energy supply but also enhances the flexibility of the entire energy process, turning solar power into a reliable source regardless of natural production fluctuations. It maximizes the value of the investment while ensuring a continuous flow of green energy for consumers.

The construction of the Nanov photovoltaic plant is expected to be completed by mid-2025. Once connected to the grid, the plant will supply clean electricity to approximately 14,000 households and directly contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In doing so, the project supports the national transition to a more sustainable economy, aligning with European environmental protection objectives.
