Metigla installs PV panels on roof of Ceptura factory

Metigla, the company that offers complete solutions for metal coverings and closures, has installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Ceptura factory and is reducing its energy consumption from the grid by 70%. The installation of the photovoltaic panels meant an investment of approximately €450,000, the system generating a total installed power of 518 kW, with an estimated annual production of 645 MWh. According to the company, with this investment, complemented by a series of measures, Metigla commits to creating a sustainable and responsible future in construction.

One of the effects of the investment will be the elimination of approximately 65 tons of CO2 emissions per year, thus supporting the company's environmental protection efforts.

"Green, for us, is not just a color but a commitment. At Metigla, sustainability in construction remains a permanent objective, and our actions are aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the people and companies that use our roofing systems. We provide solutions that respect the environment, and recyclable products, we promote sustainable practices in the industry, and we will not stop there, because we are aware that the impact of Metigla's activity extends beyond our factory in Ceptura. We believe in building communities and invest in sustainability initiatives with every project we support. The most recent project of this kind was the covering of the Scala refuge in the Făgăraş Mountains with a solar roof that produces green energy for the mountaineers who cross its threshold. Through such initiatives we want to expand our impact on the community we are part of and build a sustainable future in construction." says Cristian Mătăşel, Metigla General Manager.

In addition, to encourage the transition to electromobility, the company has installed two charging stations for electric vehicles, intended for both employees and visitors to the factory. The car fleet that serves the Metigla activity will gradually switch to electric vehicles, with two new electric cars to be received by the end of this year.

"Reducing electricity consumption from the network is not the only ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) type action through which the company has found solutions with a positive impact on the environment. The LED lighting of the entire location at Ceptura, the implementation of the waste recycling policy, which led to an 80% reduction, or the upgrading of the air filtration system in the production facilities, which led to the improvement of air quality for employees, all are other integral parts of the commitment assumed by the company. And the story will continue in 2024 when Metigla proposes that all the packaging of its products be reusable or completely recyclable", states the company.
