Brasov City Hall announces that it is launching the procurement procedure for the construction of the largest garage for electric buses in Romania. It will house 157 buses, each place having its own charging station. The project, whose maximum value exceeds RON141 million (€28.2 million), excluding VAT, includes the construction of the garage, a building for repairs, and one for periodic technical inspections. The investment is made from European funds.

The Braşov City Hall submitted for publication in the Official Journal of the European Union the procurement procedure regarding the execution of construction works for "Infrastructure garage for public transport", this representing the stage prior to publication in the Electronic System of Public Procurement.

"The object of the contract is the demolition of several buildings on the RATBv platform (Str. Hărmanului no. 49), with the exception of the administrative building, and the construction of a complex that includes a garage for 157 buses and buildings to ensure the maintenance of the car fleet. Compared to the initial project, as foreseen in the feasibility study, the current project underwent a series of changes, which extended the initial term and increased the investment value. The main change is related to the construction of the garage, which in SF was planned as a metal construction, and in the design phase, the specialists determined that it must be made of reinforced concrete, considering that it is a garage for electric buses, with stations of loading at each parking space, which must comply with certain regulations", informs, on Thursday, Braşov City Hall.

The project is carried out with European funds, through the Regional Operational Program, and has a maximum value of RON141 million (€28.2 million) + VAT. It stipulates that, on the site of the Braşov Public Transport Authority, the existing buildings and the platform will be demolished, and in their place, a garage with an area of 24,154 sqm will be built, a building intended for vehicle repairs, with dedicated workstations of the type, size of the vehicle and activity, having annexes (offices, changing rooms, sanitary groups) in an area of 2,368.10 sqm, a building for periodic technical inspections, with an area of 1,730 mp.
