Cluj-Napoca City Hall buys 18 Solaris Urbino electric buses

Another 18 articulated electric buses will connect Cluj-Napoca and Florești, with funding from PNRR. The value of the contract is over €16 million. The tender was awarded, says the mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc. The 18 SOLARIS Urbino articulated electric buses are 18 m long and have a capacity of 131 people. The buses will arrive in Cluj-Napoca in the next 12 months.

The tender was awarded to Solaris Bus & Coach SP. Z.O.O. amounts to RON83,131,020 (€16 million) and includes, in addition to vehicles, 6 fast charging stations and 18 slow charging stations.

"The new electric buses, with a higher capacity than those already existing in Cluj-Napoca, will serve the Cluj-Napoca - Florești route and the routes in the municipality, depending on the degree of need. They will be purple in colour, just like the rest of the means of transport in the CTP Cluj-Napoca fleet", says mayor Emil Boc.

In addition to these 18 buses already financed by PNRR, another 22 buses will arrive in Cluj through projects submitted under other operational funding programs from European funds, the total amounting to 40 buses.

Every 3 buses delivered will be accompanied by a fast charging station compatible with the charging solutions already existing within the CTP fleet
