Harmony Energy, a UK-based developer and operator of renewable energy projects, has completed the sale of a 200-MW/400-MWh battery storage project in Poland to EDF Renewables Polska, a subsidiary of the renewables division of France's EDF Group.

The British company announced that the proceeds from this transaction will be directed towards enhancing its platform for future developments in battery energy storage systems (BESS).

“We have ambitious plans for Poland, and this deal positions us strongly to develop, own, and operate a significant portfolio in the country,” stated Michal Mackowiak, Executive Director of Harmony Energy Poland.

Founded in 2010, Harmony Energy operates across the UK, France, Germany, Poland, and New Zealand. Earlier this year, the company, alongside its joint venture partner First Renewables Ltd, finalized the investment and achieved financial closure for the 150-MWac/202-MWdc Tauhei solar project in New Zealand, poised to become the largest solar project in the country.
