E.ON Romania delivers 34 new solar plants

Green Forum
E.ON Energie Romania completed and delivered 34 turnkey photovoltaic power plants last year for partner companies across various industrial sectors, with total investments nearing €10 million.

With a combined installed capacity of 11.5 MWp, these plants generate approximately 14 GWh of renewable electricity annually—enough to power around 11,600 homes. The installations enhance energy independence for partner companies while reducing CO2 emissions by over 3,200 tons per year.

“Our goal is to be the preferred partner for companies of all sizes in Romania, offering turnkey energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions. The trust of over 400 companies that have chosen us for photovoltaic projects confirms we are on the right path,” said Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie Romania.

Among recent projects, Agricola International in Bacău County, a leading meat industry player, now operates four photovoltaic plants with a total installed capacity of 1,998 MWp, generating 2.288 GWh of renewable energy annually and reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 718 tons.

In Timiș County, E.ON installed a 655 kWp photovoltaic system for Continental Automotive Romania. With 1,440 panels, the system produces about 715 MWh of renewable electricity per year, cutting CO2 emissions by around 152 tons annually.

For Agrosel, a vegetable sector company in Cluj County, E.ON developed three photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 1,146 kWp. These generate 1.433 GWh of solar energy per year, covering 45% of the company's energy needs.

E.ON is currently working on 18 additional projects, providing tailored turnkey solutions based on clients' energy demands.

In the non-residential sector, E.ON Energie Romania has completed over 392 photovoltaic projects worth 74 million euros. The total annual energy output exceeds 104 GWh, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 23,000 tons.
