Polish solar power boosted by Sonnedix's 21MW project

Green Forum
Sonnedix, a global independent solar power producer, has officially opened a 21MW solar cluster in the Podlasie region of north-east Poland.

Once fully operational this year, the WD Cluster is expected to generate approximately 24,500 MWh of clean energy annually.

This milestone marks a significant step in Sonnedix's commitment to expanding its presence in Poland and contributing to the country's transition to renewable energy. The company entered the Polish market in early 2022 through the acquisition of Sun Power Energy, acquiring a development pipeline of over 1GW.

Justyna Nesteruk, Head of Growth and Representative Director for Sonnedix Poland, expressed her pride in the team's achievement, highlighting the positive impact of the project on the local community. The cluster will not only provide clean energy but also support biodiversity and economic development by creating habitats for wildlife and generating tax revenue.

Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix, emphasized the company's dedication to supporting Poland's energy transition and the crucial role of solar power in achieving the country's clean energy goals.

The inauguration ceremony, held at Wdziękoń Drugi, was attended by local and regional authorities, as well as Sonnedix's management team.
