"For Romania, the production of batteries is a strategic imperative for the transition to clean energy, for the modernization and increase of the competitiveness of the industry. I approved, today, in the government meeting, the memorandum with the theme "Mandate of the Ministry of Economy, national public authority with powers in the field of industrial policies, to identify financing opportunities through a state aid scheme mechanism regarding the production of batteries for electric vehicles", said the Minister of Economy.

Florin Spătaru shows that the battery industry for electro-mobility represents a field that requires substantial investments both for production and research.

"Only in this way, we will be able to create an integrated, sustainable and competitive industrial base. The development of this economic sector and the attraction of investments in this field will lead to the creation of new jobs and will boost research and innovation at the national level. In addition, the Romanian industry will be encouraged to comply with the commitments and objectives to combat climate change established by the EU", Spătaru added.
