The town hall of Timișoara is preparing new green areas in the city and more than 300 trees planted this autumn. The mayor of Timisoara, Dominic Fritz, says that he is preparing the documentation for attracting €20 million from European funds. In addition, works are taking place in the city on the new building of the Waldorf High School, the investment amounts to approximately €4.6 million. In total, 82 new classrooms are under construction for students in Timișoara.

"We are preparing the future green areas on Cetății Boulevard and finalizing the last sidewalks. A grassed tram line, new green areas, and over 300 trees were planted this autumn. The area now has miles of new water, sewer, gas, telecommunications, and electricity pipes, replaced after decades of being untouched. We recently completed the sidewalk at Școala Gimnaziă 19, and now we are working on those between Mircea cel Bătrân and Horia str.," says Mayor Dominic Fritz.

The entire boulevard becomes a modern mobility corridor accessible to everyone.

"Until now, we have borne the cost of the works only from the local budget. Now, we are preparing the documentation for attracting €20 million from European funds, money that we have already paid for the works executed so far. We will thus be able to secure financing for new investment works that change the lives of the people of Timisoara for the better", adds the mayor of Timisoara.

Also, in Timisoara, works are taking place in the new building of the Waldorf High School. This should be ready by the end of the year. The investment amounts to approximately €4.6 million.

The new building will include an additional number of classrooms and laboratories, for 446 students from the education cycles from the preparatory class to the 8th grade.

"I don't know how many new schools have been built in the last decades in Romania, but we in Timișoara have 82 new classrooms under construction because the students in Timișoara deserve good study conditions", stated the mayor

He also talked about two new major investments in Timișoara: the expansion of the Acces Group software company and the new Hamilton Central Europe research and development laboratory.

"Timișoara is strengthening its position as a research and development center, not only on the Romanian map but internationally. They are two major investments, both in terms of value and number of employees. Why did they choose Timisoara? Because Timișoara is a city where you can do business, where you find very well-trained people, but most importantly, you find a culture of innovation.

The expansion of these companies is a strong signal of optimism and confidence in the future of our city - the most dynamic city in Romania", said Dominiz Fritz.
