Eurowind and Autoliv sign energy deal

Eurowind Energy and Autoliv, a global leader in automotive safety systems, have signed a 12-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Romania.

Through this agreement, Autoliv is taking a major step toward sourcing 100% of its electricity from renewable energy. The new Virtual Power Purchase Agreement is a significant contribution to achieving the company's climate goals.

“This project marks an important milestone in our decarbonization journey and strengthens Autoliv's position as a sustainability leader in the automotive industry. It supports our ability to deliver sustainable products to our customers and brings us closer to meeting our climate targets for European operations,” said Magnus Jarlegren, President of Autoliv Europe.

“PPAs are essential for the development of new renewable energy parks. Agreements with large and ambitious companies like Autoliv ensure the continued investment in new projects and contribute to a cleaner future for all of us,” stated Jesper Schaumburg-Düring, Commercial Director at Eurowind Energy.

The agreement covers the delivery of clean electricity over a 12-year period from the Pecineaga Wind Park (48 MW), located in Romania. Once completed, the park is expected to generate approximately 176,000 MWh per year — enough to power around 48,000 Romanian households. The park is scheduled to become operational by 2027.

Eurowind Energy A/S is a Danish company that specializes in developing, constructing, and operating renewable energy parks. The company is active in wind, solar, green hydrogen, biogas, power-to-heat, and battery storage solutions.
