Eurowind installs Romania's largest wind turbines at Pecineaga

The Danish developer and operator of wind, solar, and hybrid projects, Eurowind Energy, announced that it has completed the installation of eight Siemens Gamesa wind turbines in the 48 MW wind farm at Pecineaga. The Danes plan for the project to be operational this year.

"We have completed the installation of eight Siemens Gamesa SG 6.6-170 wind turbines. They are the largest turbines of this type in Romania, each featuring a 170-meter rotor and a rated power of 6.6 MW. Thanks to this state-of-the-art technology, we harness even lighter winds to produce renewable energy. Once the wind farm is commissioned, we will supply approximately 176,000 MWh of green energy every year, enough for 48,000 households. Alexandru Rusu, our project manager, ensures that work is progressing rapidly, and our plan is to become operational this year," company representatives stated.

The project in Constanța County is expected to become operational in 2025 and will supply green energy to a total of 48,000 households. By the end of the project, the electricity production capacity is expected to be approximately 176,000 MWh per year.

The wind farm involves an investment of 79 million euros.
