Emeren Group signs 7-Year PPA for Polish solar farm

Green Forum
Emeren Group, a leading global solar developer, owner, and operator, has announced the signing of a 7-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a solar farm in Poland's southwest Silesia region.

Under the agreement, the solar farm will supply clean energy to the Polish subsidiary of a multinational consumer goods company on a pay-as-produced basis.

The solar farm is expected to generate around 14,958 MWh of renewable energy annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 16,150 metric tons each year. This project aligns with Poland's climate goals and supports global decarbonization efforts. By delivering clean energy directly to the grid, it also boosts local energy security and contributes to diversifying Poland's energy mix, which is still largely coal-dependent.

Beyond environmental benefits, the project provides economic value to the region. During construction, it created jobs for 80 workers, many from the Ukrainian community, and will generate 10 long-term positions during its operations. The solar farm will also contribute approximately 90,000 PLN annually in property taxes and 167,000 PLN in land taxes, helping fund local infrastructure and community development.

Yumin Liu, CEO of Emeren Group, stated, "Signing this 7-year PPA is a major step in executing our renewable energy strategy in key markets. This project reflects our commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and creating lasting value for communities. It supports Poland's energy transition, strengthens the local economy, and highlights our capability to deliver impactful renewable projects globally. Through strong partnerships with industrial leaders, we continue to move forward with our vision for a sustainable energy future."
