DRI connects 60MW Glodeni II solar park to Romanian Grid

Green Forum
DRI, the European renewables division of Ukrainian energy company DTEK, has successfully connected its 60MW Glodeni II solar park to the Romanian grid.

With this milestone, DRI now operates three renewable energy projects in Romania, bringing its total capacity in the country to 173MW.

Located in Mureș County, the Glodeni II solar park has a capacity of 60MWp and is expected to generate 86.4 GWh annually, enough to power over 22,400 homes each year.

This marks DRI's second solar installation in Romania. Together with the 53MWp Glodeni I, it forms one of the largest solar complexes in the country.

In addition to the Glodeni solar projects, DRI also runs a 60MWp wind farm in Ruginoasa, Iași County, which began operations in December 2023.

Under a significant power purchase agreement (PPA) signed in December 2023, DRI will sell 62% of the electricity generated by the two Glodeni solar parks to energy producer OMV Petrom SA, marking the largest physical solar PPA in Romania.
