Eurowind Energy to invest €50 million in new PV park in Teiuș

Eurowind Energy is investing €50 million in the construction of a new solar PV park in Teiuș, Alba County. The PV Park will generate approximately 102.05 GWh annually after becoming operational in 2024, with the capacity to power 30,050 households each year. Construction is scheduled for October 2023 and the project will be developed on 80 hectares of land, according to the Danish-based developer and operator of wind, solar, and hybrid projects. The construction of the park represents the company's fourth project in Romania.

„We aim, through everything we do, to contribute to building a sustainable, greener, and better future for all of us, and the Teiuș PV project represents another step on this road. This park is only the beginning of what is next for our plans in Romania, having a pipeline of energy projects of approximately 4GW. We are convinced that, by investing in renewable energy solutions, we are not only helping to mitigate the global climate challenge but also to develop areas and communities, which makes us very happy and motivates us to continue in this direction”, said the new project Adrian Dobre, Country Manager Romania, Eurowind Energy.

The PV park from Teiuș is the fourth renewable energy project developed by Eurowind Energy in Romania, the company has 12 operational energy parks in Europe with a capacity of 100 MW. The other local projects are the photovoltaic parks from Halchiu, Măgurele (both built-in 2013) and Pufești (built-in 2012), each with a capacity of 2,03 MW, 3,38 MW, respectively 1,5 MW, summing up a capacity of approx. 7 MW.

Scheduled to become operational next year, in 2024, the PV park in Teiuș will be developed on 80 hectares of land and will have 119,184 photovoltaic modules, with a total capacity of 70MW, generating 102.05 GWh per year. Thus, the new project will be able to supply electricity annually for up to 30,050 households. Once construction is completed, Eurowind Energy will retain ownership of the photovoltaic park.

The new agro voltaic park from Teiuș will combine the production of electricity from renewable sources (photovoltaic panels) with agriculture, thus contributing to the development of the area both in terms of energy and agricultural activities. 130 owners will be able to use the 80 hectares of land on which the park is built for agricultural purposes, with access for their animals to graze.

With a very high potential for development around the world, the concept of agro voltaic project involves the sharing of the same area of land for both solar PV energy production and agriculture, thus maximizing the available resources and contributing to the mitigation of climate effects.

Through the projects it develops, Eurowind Energy focuses its efforts on the development, construction, operation, and optimization of renewable energy, including ensuring the integration of different energy sources (PtX technologies) in its energy parks. In this way, the company aims to make renewable energy accessible to as many people around the world as possible and, in doing so, make a solid impact on the global climate challenge.
