PROMELEK XXI doubled its H1 2024 turnkey photovoltaic sales

Green Forum
PROMELEK XXI, one of the leading players in the local electrical equipment market and part of the Spanish Elektra group, recorded a turnover of €1.66 million from the installation of turnkey photovoltaic systems in the first six months of the year and expects to maintain a sustained growth rate throughout the year.

The Cluj-based company aims to consolidate its market presence in the coming period by promoting the integrated energy efficiency solution package UPgrade, which includes a solar energy component.
In the first semester, the company delivered 6 large-scale projects, exceeding 400 kW, to final beneficiaries in various cities across the country. The largest turnkey projects in Promelek XXI's portfolio involved teams of up to 40 technicians and engineers, covering mechanical and electrical installation, as well as complete system configuration.

Amid growing interest in reducing energy costs and access to various European and government funds, a significant number of companies have recently chosen to invest in renewable energy solutions, primarily photovoltaics, to cover their consumption. In 2023, Romania recorded a record year in the photovoltaic sector, adding new capacities totaling over 1 GW, according to the industry association SolarPower Europe, which notes that this energy source is the fastest-growing in the country.

On the other hand, specific challenges in this business include adapting photovoltaic solutions to increasingly stringent customer requirements and integrating new energy storage technologies. Additionally, maintaining a fair quality-price ratio is challenging, given that Promelek XXI is an exclusive supplier of premium equipment, according to the company representative.

In an increasingly competitive market, PROMELEK XXI intends to intensify its presence in the renewable energy project sector by developing UPgrade, an integrated package of energy efficiency services launched under its concept.

The photovoltaic segment has remained one of the main elements of the new business line, whose launch involved personnel repositioning, additional resources, and team expansion, added the Executive Director of the Cluj-based company.

PROMELEK XXI ended 2023 with a business of approximately €44 million, an increase of 10% compared to the previous year.
