Car manufacturer Ford presented the new E Tourneo Courier in Copenhagen, Denmark. The new E-Tourneo Courier, fully electric, marks the next milestone in Ford's mission to achieve zero emissions for all vehicle sales by 2035. The car will be produced at the Ford Otosan factory in Craiova and will be available from the end of 2024. The design typical of an electric model maximizes interior space and practicality for a compact, city-friendly, five-seat, versatile vehicle with a distinctive SUV appeal. The new Tourneo Courier with a 125 hp EcoBoost turbo petrol engine and a displacement of 1 litre goes into production in 2023.

"Built for adventure and ready for any scenario, the E-Tourneo Courier is a five-seater multipurpose vehicle with an SUV-inspired design that offers generous space for passengers and their belongings, all in a compact body. The latest model in the Tourneo family uses an electric drive system, complemented by a wide range of digital experiences and connected functions to take ownership of this electric vehicle attractive and affordable, capable of over-the-air software updates to improve the product over time," the company announced.

The model is one of ten fully electric vehicles that Ford has committed to introducing in Europe by 2024, as it targets zero emissions for all vehicle sales in the region by 2035. The company is investing $50 billion globally by 2026 to achieve the goal of producing more than 2 million electric vehicles by the end of that year.

The E-Tourneo Courier will be produced at the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova, Romania, in the second half of 2024, alongside the Puma crossover – Ford's best-selling passenger car in Europe, which will be offered in a fully electric version in 2024.

The all-electric model will reach customers across Europe in 2024. The EcoBoost petrol Tourneo Courier will be available to order this summer, with deliveries scheduled for later this year.

"We designed the E-Tourneo Courier to allow customers to get maximum versatility in everyday use – whether the car is loaded for a family adventure or to carry materials needed for a job with all the rear seats folded down," said Amko Leenarts, Ford design director, Europe.

The versatile, 100% electric vehicle is developed to carry five adults, with 44% more luggage space than the old Tourneo Courier. The car also has a hidden trunk and a 44-liter compartment under the front hood.

The E-Tourneo Courier is available with a range of stylish trims, including the Active with a roof painted differently from the rest of the body, additional wheel arch guards, roof rails, and unique seat stitching.

“Refined, all-electric journeys are possible thanks to the E-Tourneo Courier's 100 kW (136 hp) engine, which benefits from One-Pedal technology, which makes driving simpler, more efficient, and more enjoyable. The most comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems in its class also helps make everyday driving and longer journeys easier, and drivers can choose between Normal, Eco, and Slippery driving modes," says Ford.

The vehicle offers both 11kW AC and 100kW DC charging options, and charging management is made easier with the Ford Pass app, where charging can be managed and scheduled to suit individual needs. A typical AC charge from 10 to 100% takes 5.7 hours. Ford software and the BlueOval Charge Network – which is set to include 500,000 charging stations by 2024 – also make public charging easier, allowing customers to add 87km of range in just 10 minutes from a fast current charger continuously and charge from 10-80% in under 35 minutes when recharging is needed away from home.
