Exim Banca Românească issues cards made of recyclable materials

Exim Banca Românească has started the transition process of the card portfolio towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative. Thus, from this month, Mastercard Debit Gold cards issued by the bank will be made from recyclable material. The process of transitioning to sustainable materials for the card portfolio will continue over the next year and will apply exclusively to newly issued cards to avoid wasting existing stock and to enable the end-of-life of those in customer possession.

"Exim Banca Românească has the responsibility to offer safe and sustainable banking products that support the transition to a green economy, and the launch of the debit card made from recyclable materials represents another step forward in the implementation of our sustainability strategy. We will continue the transition to environmentally friendly materials for the other products in the card portfolio and, at the same time, we will focus on promoting responsible banking practices by accelerating the digitization of the services offered. We also consider the development of products and services with sustainability components, whether we are talking about dedicated products or the integration of ESG criteria in financing and investment decisions, and we propose that through our actions we contribute to amplifying the positive effects that policies of sustainable lending they have at the level of the community and the environment", said Traian Halalai, the executive president of Exim Banca Românească.

Recently, the bank introduced the Google Pay service to its portfolio, offering the bank's card-holding customers the opportunity to make fast and secure contactless payments at POS terminals, directly with the phone with the Android operating system, through the Google Wallet application, without the need the physical presence of the card.

Also, Exim Banca Românească makes available to individuals the e-bancamea.ro platform through which it offers easy, fast, and secure access, 100% online, to a complete package of products and services: current account in lei, debit card (Mastercard Gold), the SMS Alert service, and Internet Banking, combined under the name eSential Package.

Exim Banca Românească is a 100% Romanian bank. The bank operates a national distribution network of 83 branches and 26 Business Centers, the latter being dedicated exclusively to companies.

Etem Gestamp signs cross-border wind power deal with Rezolv

Etem Gestamp, the Sofia-based joint venture between Viohalco Group and Spain's Gestamp Group focused on aluminium extrusion and processing for the automotive industry, and Rezolv Energy, the Actis-backed independent power producer, have signed a 10-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in Bulgaria. The VPPA will see Etem Gestamp buy electricity from Rezolv Energy's 461MW 'Vifor' wind farm, which is about to come onstream in Buzău County, Romania. It is the first cross-border wind PPA that has been publicly announced in Bulgaria.
