RWE wins 31 solar projects in Poland

Green Forum
RWE has been awarded 31 solar projects in Poland, with a combined capacity of 102 megawatts of direct current (MWdc), following the latest renewable energy auction held by the Polish energy regulator, Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (URE).

This capacity translates to approximately 84 megawatts of alternating current (MWac).

Most of the awarded projects have already secured permits and are expected to begin construction in early 2025.

In Poland, RWE is currently developing solar farms with a total capacity exceeding 100 MWac.

Katja Wünschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, commented, “Securing these 31 solar projects is a significant achievement and reinforces our commitment to expanding solar energy in Poland. We already have 91 MWac of solar capacity operational in the country, with over 100 MWac under construction.”

She added, “We are excited to move forward with these projects and continue supporting Poland's energy transition.”
