Smart Solar Technologies to build solar factory in Bulgaria

Green Forum
The Turkish company Smart Solar Technologies will build a factory in Bulgaria for the production of solar cells and panels. The project is valued at €123 million and the majority of the factory's output will be aimed at European markets.

The new plant will be built by Smart Solar Technologies AD, and its production of photovoltaic panels and cells will be based on high-tech production. The production of photovoltaic panels and cells will be differentiated into separate sectors with almost fully automated assembly lines.

All buildings will be energy efficient and ecologically compliant with the green transition. The project envisages the prevention of the release of harmful gases or pollution of wastewater - zero gas footprint during production.

The production premises – for solar cells and panels, will be equipped with machinery and equipment in two stages. It will first start production of panels in the amount of 900 MW in the second year of the investment, and in the third year the production of cells in the amount of 800 MW.The factory for photovoltaic panels and cells, the construction of which is planned in the region of Stara Zagora is a large-scale project that is expected to open more than 800 new jobs. In addition to improving the economic condition of the region and its investment climate, Smart Solar Technologies' investment will also lead to sustainable development, stimulating the progress of renewable energy sources (RES) and "green" energy.
