George Niculescu, the President of the National Energy Regulatory Authority, mentioned that if Romania maintains its current growth rate of 4,000-5,000 prosumers per month, the country will have around 200,000 prosumers by the year's end. This trend suggests a growing interest among Romanians and companies in adopting this energy efficiency measure.

"As of December 31, 2023, there were 110,355 prosumers connected to the grids, totaling 1,442 megawatts. Of these, 95,205 were individuals, and 15,150 were legal entities. We see that even legal entities have an appetite to become prosumers. After a month, as of January 31, 2024, we have 114,109 prosumers, with approximately 4,000 more - and 1,502 megawatts, representing an increase of 50 megawatts, 98,203 individuals, and 15,906 legal entities," said George Niculescu.

He mentioned that if this growth rate is maintained, with 4,000-5,000 prosumers per month, by the end of the year, we will reach the figure of 200,000 prosumers, a significant number.
