Residents of Salonta and its surroundings can get rid of bulky or dangerous waste free of charge. The Bihor County Council announced that it is opening the so-called Center with Voluntary Contribution for the separate collection of bulky waste, the second outside Oradea, after the one in Alesd. The center is managed by the Salonta City Hall and the sanitation operator AVE Bihor and will allow free waste storage for the residents of Salonta, Tulca, and Mădăras.

Thus, people will be able to get rid, without paying and without breaking the law, of waste such as tires, furniture, plastic, paper, cardboard, textiles, glass, metal, construction waste, garden waste, electrical and electronic waste, vegetable oil used, insecticide cans, paint boxes, neon signs or small batteries.

Access to the collection center will be allowed after identification through the identity card.

The Salonta platform is part of the network of 32 voluntary waste collection centers that will operate in Bihor County, a project carried out by the Bihor County Council and the Intercommunity Development Association (A.D.I.) Ecolect Group, in partnership with the town halls.

"From the summer of next year, all 32 waste platforms will be open. In this way, the citizens of Bihor County will have, at a short distance from home, the opportunity to deposit all large waste, free of charge, thus ensuring conditions for a clean county", said Ilie Bolojan, president of the Bihor County Council.

Also, on November 4, the platform in Alesd became operational. The centers in Marghita and Beiuș will be opened next. 12 rigs are in the works and the builder for another 16 is to be appointed.

These centers, financed with European funds, are part of the "Integrated Waste Management System" (S.M.I.D.) in Bihor County and will serve both the administrative-territorial unit where they are located and those in the vicinity.

The working platforms are at: Sântandrei, Sânnicolau Român, Vadu Crișului, Beznea, Tileagd, Ceica, Tinca, Săcueni, Valea lui Mihai, Popești, Oșorhei, Sânmartin.

Platforms in the auction are at: Aușeu, Avram Iancu, Balc, Borș, Buntești, Chișlaz, Cociuba Mare, Copăcel, Drăgănești, Lazuri de Beiuș, Lăzăreni, Nojorid, Paleu, Spinuș, Ștei, Vașcau.
