Electrica completes acquisitions of Crucea Power Park

Electrica finalized the acquisition of Crucea Power Park SRL (CPP), a company primarily focused on wind energy production.

CPP is developing the Crucea Est wind project, which will have an installed turbine capacity of up to 138 MW and an energy storage capacity of 60 MWh (15 MW x 4h). The project, located in Constanța County, near the towns of Crucea and Pantelimon, is in the ready-to-build phase.

“On September 17, 2024, we announced that CPP was among the winners of the first round of the State Aid Scheme Auction under the Contracts for Difference (CfD) mechanism, securing an allocated installed capacity of 54.0 MW at a price of €77.3250/MWh. This transaction perfectly aligns with our strategic objective to expand electricity production and highlights our commitment to supporting Romania's energy sector development and national energy transition goals,” said Alexandru Chiriță, CEO of Electrica.

Electrica previously informed the capital market on July 28, 2021, about signing the 100% share purchase agreement for Crucea Power Park. During the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) on February 5, 2025, shareholders approved the investment project, with a total value of up to €253 million (excluding VAT). They also approved a loan from Electrica S.A. to CPP to finance the necessary investment works for completing and operating the Crucea Est wind farm.
