Town hall of Vaslui to acces EU funds for PV park

Green Forum
The municipality of Vaslui plans to access non-repayable funds from the Ministry of Energy, through the Modernization Fund, to reduce electricity bills for the new trolleybuses, public lighting network, and subordinate institutions. The construction of a photovoltaic park in Brodoc is envisioned, covering an area of 30 hectares, with an expected annual output of approximately 2,357 MW/h.

The investment is estimated to cost nearly €3.6 million, of which only about €1 million would be provided from the local budget, with completion expected within 9 months from the start of construction.

Vaslui City Hall is seeking solutions to reduce the cost of electricity used for public transportation, public lighting networks, and subordinate institutions, including schools and high schools in the city. In this regard, they aim to take advantage of a recent opportunity, when the Ministry of Energy opened the project submission session "Support for investments in new capacities for electricity production from renewable sources for self-consumption for public entities," funded through Key Program 1 "Renewable energy sources and energy storage" under the Modernization Fund. This entails non-repayable funding for public authorities, with each entity eligible for 1.1 million euros excluding VAT/MW for the establishment of such capacities for electricity production from renewable sources.

The future photovoltaic park of Vaslui municipality is planned to be located in the Brodoc plains, covering an area of 30 hectares, where the power plant and necessary electrical networks for power evacuation will also be installed. The produced energy will be delivered directly to the National Energy System, with the supplier conducting financial reconciliation between the delivered energy and the energy consumed from the grid.
