Energa Green acquires major PV project in Poland

Green Forum
Energa Green Development has acquired the PV Serby project, one of the largest planned solar farms in Poland, with a projected capacity of 112 MW.

This acquisition marks another step in advancing the ORLEN Group's national decarbonization strategy and expanding its portfolio of onshore renewable energy projects across the country.

Energa Green Development (EGD), a subsidiary of the Energa Group focused on developing land-based renewable energy sources in Poland, has purchased 100% of the shares in the special-purpose company behind the PV Serby project. The solar power plant will be built in Głogów County, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of southwestern Poland. This adds to EGD's growing footprint in the region, where it is also managing the PV Kotla project, a 130 MW solar installation under development in the same county.

Once operational, PV Serby is expected to produce enough electricity to cover the annual consumption of around 56,000 Polish households. Construction is planned to be completed within 14 months of the official go-ahead, which coincided with the project's acquisition.

EGD operates within the ORLEN Group, one of Poland's largest energy conglomerates, which aims to reach 12.8 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2035. Renewable energy will play a key role in ORLEN's broader plan to decarbonize its operations — spanning the petrochemical, retail, and refining sectors. The Group has set a target to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
