Green Forum
OMV Petrom, in partnership with Save the Children Romania, is investing €1.5 million to renovate Polizu Maternity Hospital, the largest facility of its kind in Romania.

This initiative aims to enhance medical conditions for thousands of mothers and newborns by modernizing hospital infrastructure and upgrading equipment.

Polizu Maternity Hospital is Romania's top referral center for high-risk pregnancies and premature newborns, handling complex cases that require immediate intervention. Its infrastructure and equipment require urgent modernization to continue providing high-quality care.

Christina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom, highlighted the company's long-term commitment to community support, with €190 million invested in social projects since 2007. “Health is a priority, and the Polizu project aligns with our sustainability goals by offering essential resources to thousands of vulnerable patients annually,” she stated. OMV Petrom has also contributed to the construction of a new pediatric hospital in Bucharest, the modernization of Ploiești County Hospital, and other healthcare initiatives.

The project will modernize the Intensive Care Unit and Operating Room, improving the management of high-risk pregnancies, reducing infections, and optimizing medical workflows for faster emergency response times. More than 5,000 patients will benefit each year from improved, safer conditions.
