Romania signs €16.2 million in contracts for local renewable energy

The Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, announced the signing of 21 financing contracts under the Fund for Modernization: Program – Key 1: Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Storage.   

These projects are designed to boost investment in new electricity production capacities from renewable sources for local communities, with public institutions as the primary beneficiaries. The total value of these projects exceeds €16.2 million, with €14.9 million provided through the Modernization Fund. The projects will add a total installed capacity of 11.67 MW.

These investments will reduce local energy costs, create jobs, and improve the quality of life.

Romanian developer Iulius has launched Europe's largest private bioremediation project, investing €29 million to clean 38 hectares of contaminated land in downtown Constanța. The project will transform the former Oil Terminal platform into an integrated urban regeneration complex worth over €800 million.
