GTC Group has published its 2025 ESG Report, covering sustainability performance across seven Central and Eastern European markets. The report, prepared in accordance with GRI standards, spans a commercial portfolio of 38 office buildings and 6 shopping centres in Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, alongside a residential portfolio. The company reports that 99% of its commercial buildings are now certified under LEED, BREEAM or DGNB standards, or are undergoing recertification.
Among the environmental results recorded in 2025, GTC reduced direct and indirect CO2 emissions (Scopes 1, 2 and 3, including tenants) by 15% year on year across its office and retail portfolio. Waste generated at commercial projects fell by 18% compared with 2024, with 17% of that waste recycled. A notable certification milestone was the award of LEED Gold v5 to the southern tower of the City Gate complex in Bucharest, making it the first existing property in Romania and only the fourth in Europe to receive that distinction.
GTC also began rolling out the WasteTracker system across 12 office buildings in Poland, covering nearly 135,000 sqm of leasable space. The system measures and analyses waste streams generated by tenants and visualises carbon footprint by waste fraction.
"Sustainability is not a standalone initiative at GTC. It is embedded in the way we create long-term value. Our ESG efforts help us build stronger relationships with our tenants by delivering workplaces that are efficient, healthy and aligned with their evolving expectations," said Botond Rencz, CEO of GTC Group.
On the social side, GTC organised events across its properties promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement, including medical check-ups and sports activities. A programme called Safe Space, launched at Galeria Jurajska in partnership with the City of Częstochowa, offers free anonymous psychological support for young people. On governance and workforce matters, the report notes that 57% of GTC's employees and nearly half of its managers were women in 2025, with staff distributed across age groups reflecting the company's focus on an inclusive workplace.
