44 new electric buses have arrived in Timisoara, announces the mayor of the city, Dominic Fritz. Almost half are already registered. Electric buses run on lines 33, 40, E1, E2, E3 and E7. The capacity of the buses is 150 passengers, of which 50 per seat, they have a low floor, accessible for people with reduced mobility.
"The others are to be received and registered. From August 1, the people of Timisoara who travel on line 13 (from the center to Ovidiu Balea) have new buses at their disposal", says the mayor of Timisoara, Dominic Fritz.
Also, 17 more charging stations for electric cars will be built in the city.
"We just received the news that our project received funding from the Environmental Fund Administration. In total, we won over RON3 million (€600,000). We encourage green transportation. As many electric cars as possible and all non-polluting public transport are the targets we are working towards", says Dominic Fritz.
