Faerch signs first wind PPA for Polish operations

Faerch, a global leader in sustainable food packaging solutions, is proud to announce the signing of a new 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Eurowind Energy – Faerch's first ever wind PPA.

This significant agreement will supply Faerch with 70,000 MWh of green electricity annually from the forthcoming Novogrodek wind energy park in Poland. This volume of green energy corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 17.500 Danish households.

"With this PPA with Eurowind Energy, Faerch will benefit from a reliable source of renewable power, helping us reduce our carbon footprint and support the energy transition in Poland," says Tom Sand-Kristensen, Group CFO at Faerch. "By securing renewable energy for our operations, we are enhancing the sustainability of our Polish sites while contributing to the increase of renewable energy in the Polish grid. The agreement also marks another significant step in our Renewable Energy Strategy, which aims to power all our facilities with additional renewable energy through PPAs."

With the new wind PPA adding to the existing Polish solar PPA, more than 85 percent of Faerch's electricity consumption in Poland will come from renewable energy sources by 2027.

The Novogrodek park is currently in the pre-construction phase. The turbines for the park have been commissioned from Vestas and are expected to be operational by early 2027.
