GoldenPeaks Capital Holding has entered into a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with NGK Ceramics Polska, a Polish manufacturer of ceramic components for the automotive industry.

Under the agreement, GoldenPeaks will supply approximately 125 GWh of renewable energy, helping NGK Ceramics Polska reduce its production-related carbon footprint. Over the 10-year term, the deal is expected to offset around 938,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

The electricity will come from solar parks in Poland, set to begin operations next year. GoldenPeaks estimates that the contracted power will be equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 60,000 local households.

NGK Ceramics Polska, a subsidiary of Japan's NGK Ceramics, has been present in Poland since 2003, producing filters for diesel and petrol engine vehicles. The company already sources part of its electricity from an 11.6-MW solar park in Silesia province, developed by a subsidiary of Japanese construction firm Kajima Corporation and operational since February.
